Yes, DONOR, the SUGGESTED list price of your Savage was $4200. You originally said you paid $5000. Now most cool buyers, would have negotiated on the SUGGESTED list price. This is done all of the time. But, because you did not explain how you arrived at $5000, it appeared, to me, that you went into the store and said; " I will give you $5000, for the Savage.
Do you see now, why I originally said that you paid too much?
Why are you figuring tax, title management fees and license? Every body has too pay fees when buying. When we talk price it should be standardized;
SUGGESTED RETAIL---WHOLESALE---CLEAN TRADE IN VALUE---ROUGH TRADE IN VALUE--- LOAN VALUE-- or MARKET VALUE.
Other expenses like; lawyers fees, phone calls, notarizing, licensing, taxes, tittle transfer, inventory management fee, taxi fare etc. are not, "THE PRICE".

Scorpion says: "David, just a little note,not everyone has your kind of money."
I say B.S., I only said that I can pay cash for a motorcycle. I am not rich. I am not loaded. You too, can do this, just the same way that I did it. You are making payments to the dealer---I make the same payments to my self. The only difference is that you have INSTANT GRATIFICATION---I had to be in denial, but ONLY THE FIRST TIME.
I use a credit card for CONVENIENCE, but have never paid an interest based payment. Damn-it if I cannot afford what I am purchasing with the credit card, I should be whipped for buying the item. Travel now, pay later, yes, but I pay up later. If I did not think that I would be able to pay, I would have stayed home.
If you are on welfare, only make minimum salary, are burdened down with medical bills or other binding situations; you will not be able to pay cash for a motorcycle. You will not even be able to buy on credit. You will never have a motorcycle. Forget it you are screwed!!
All you others will live pay check to pay check if you go into debt, by buying on credit---yes! The idea is to put something aside no matter what you make; then you will be able to buy the same thing at a later date cheaper, by not paying the interest. My point is that a motorcycle is a LUXURY!! Are you telling me that you HAVE to buy the motorcycle on payments, because you do not have the cash? I am telling you, that you do not have to buy the motorcycle at all then. I did not buy a motorcycle until I got the cash! I did not have a lot of money, I did not have a source of a lot of money. I denied the temptation of "INSTANT GRATIFICATION"--- a luxury---do you understand.
Make the regular payment schedule to yourself (per month) until the fictitious motorcycle is paid off. How long did it take? Two years, three years, four tears?? Then take this money and reward yourself with a cash purchase. Immediately start another time payment schedule to yourself, so that in the future, you buy with cash again--and continue this all your life. Don't you think that this is smart thinking. The only time that you were in denial was the first time!!
Granted (as I stated in another post) some things like home mortgage, needed uniforms or tools for your trade, needed basic transportation cannot wait for several years. Then again you also don't need the best appartment/house, car, etc. either, when you are staring your life.
